Today I am looking at using glass block in your backyard.
I found this outdoor bench on Houzz.com. The bench was made by Glass Block Specialties of Erie, PA. Nice idea.

I’ve got to get up and go to work very early this morning so…
I’m leaving you with this important video to watch while I am away.
29 WAYS TO STAY CREATIVE from TO-FU on Vimeo.
Why don’t you spend today working on your creativity skills?
IT IS FRIDAY!
Woohoo! I’m happy to make it through the week.
Just like the 1st item the video recommends, I write lists. I love to make lists and then scratch through each item as I finish them. I get such a feeling of accomplishment. I even work a job that lets me make lists and then mark off the items that I find and send.
I always feel like saying TA-DA! when I finish.
This weekend work on being creative. Make a list, go on an adventure, draw, or write. Have fun and enjoy your accomplishments.
I’ll see you back here on Monday,
Patricia
Today I am looking at interior laminated glass sidelites.
I found this home on Houzz.com and I really liked the idea of using laminated glass as a sidelight to a room opening. Everyone wants to open up smaller spaces but can’t always remove a load bearing wall.
This room uses 3form laminated glass to allow a peak into the dining room. Add narrow laminated glass sidelites in between wall studs and viola!, you have amazing artistic sidelites.
Today I am looking at a beautiful window wall.
I love this colorful window wall at the home of Doug Aitken. I read a blog post at Floudeau featuring this unique home.
Ye Rin Mok is a freelance photographer who lives and works in Los Angeles. She shot Doug Aitken‘s home for L’Officiel Art and it’s wonderful.
While other areas of the home are featured in the blog post, it was the yellow/orange/white/clear, textured glass window wall that made me very happy.
Today I am looking at the Saturn glass pendant lights offered by custom lighting specialists, Shakuff.
Guy Kemper and Paul Housberg are both winners of CoDA awards this week. CLICK HERE for more information about the awards and to see Guy and Paul’s entries.
Ross Matteson met his Kickstarter campaign, The Structure Of Love Is Indestructible, goal of $16,000. Ross earned a grand total of $17,680! That means Ross’ project is now 110% funded.
Now, that’s what I call starting the work week off on a positive note!
Today I am looking at camping.
This time of year I feel a strong pull to go to the mountains. I don’t know why, I think it is the thought of Autumn. I can almost feel the onset of cooler temperatures and see the leaves changing color and rustling underfoot. I am thinking of crisp, cool air.
I’m not a fan of roughing it. I would love to go the mountains and stay in a camping lodge that looks like this:
Or maybe a place like this:
Hmm…Probably not something like this:
I WOULD do this:
or this:
or this:
or even this:
I WON’T, under any circumstances, do this:
How about a “luxury outhouse” (oxymoron alert!) with glass mosaic windows by Sharra Frank Fine Art Mosaics” .
Nope, I Still WOULDN’T Do it!
IT IS FRIDAY!!!

Here is a little Labor Day History:
Being the GIANT blog slacker that I have become…I will be taking Monday off from the blog. I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Think about ALL of the hard work that you have done over the past year, pat yourself on the back, and enjoy your day of leisure.
I’ll see you back here on Tuesday,
Patricia
Today I am looking at the architectural concrete and glass creations of Bradford Teasdale.
I recently did a search on concrete and glass and by chance, came across Bradford Teasdale’s website. I was smitten.
Bradford Teasdale specializes in the creation of large-scale concrete artwork for architecture and design. His work is structural as well as decorative, and incorporates the latest advances in sustainable concrete design.

I was also instantly in love with this set of nesting tables.
Today I am looking at, Judson Studios Inspired Light: USC Our Savior Church Project.

Inspiring Light: Creation of the Stained Glass Windows at USC’s Our Savior Church by The Judson Studios
In continuing my interest in “the process” of creating, I found this film by Eric Mihn Swenson, on making a new window for USC Our Savior Church by The Judson Studios fun to watch.
This dynamic, 26 minute documentary by filmmaker Eric Mihn Swenson, walks the audience through the 117 year old Los Angeles stained glass studio as it’s artisans craft the vision of Our Savior’s parishioners and pastor into 17 beautiful stained glass works of art.

Today I am looking at salvaged stained glass.
I like the patterns in this salvaged stained glass window that is offered for sale by Second Chance Inc. in Baltimore, MD.
The top 2 panels are my favorite. I like the colors, pattern, and glass used. It appears that the third panel is different from the top two and that the bottom panel is detached. Very distressed. Do you think that this window was made from different parts of another stained glass window? Was the original window broken and repaired by the church members? Is this a 2nd generation salvage? I would love to know the history of this window.
