Today I am looking at the renovation of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Seattle, WA.
Today marks another milestone for Looking At Glass. I am happy to tell you that today, I am publishing the 700th post. I know, I can’t believe it either. Thanks to all of you for your kind words of encouragement. I enjoy looking at beautiful glass and learning about the creative, talented people who make it all happen. And most of all, I enjoy sharing with all of you. I am looking forward to the next 700 posts.
Now, let’s take a look at St. Paul’s renovation…
I found this project listing on Arch Daily. St. Paul’s windows previously had dated 1960’s window film on its windows. The film was removed and art glass “shingles” were added. The shingles mimic the extensive copper shingles on the outside roof of the building.
Inside, new cast, resin-tinted art glass held by custom extruded aluminum clips frames new insulated glass units on the East and West walls replacing the visual clash and energy inefficiency of the existing glass.

The project also included a great looking storefront installation. I didn’t include it in this post but, you can see the details over at ArchDaily.com.
