Corning Museum of Glass Live Streamed Demo

I’ve got a little secret to tell you…

I’ve become addicted to watching the Corning Museum of Glass live streamed video demos on Wednesdays.  It is a great way to spend your lunch hour.  The demos are held every Wednesday from 11 am-12pm ET.

This week WATCH Emilio Santini demonstrate for his Studio course, Sculptural Flameworking, which is designed for intermediate students who are interested in sculpting glass at the torch. Students will be introduced to various sculpting and glassblowing techniques using borosilicate and soda lime glass.

Emilio Santini was born in Murano, Italy, into a family with 600 years of glassblowing tradition. He currently resides in Williamsburg, VA. He has recently begun to combine his flameworking talent with furnaceblown and cast work. He has taught extensively in this country’s major glass schools and is a popular instructor for both beginning and highly skilled students.

The demos are very fascinating to watch and you have the opportunity to chat with Corning Museum staff members and other video observers via the UStream live feed system.  It’s loads of fun.  So, take an hour away from your work and watch the live demo today.  I’ll be watching right along with you!
