Successful Glass Project Uses Two Techniques

Today I am looking at a recent successful project by Architectural Glass Art, Inc. for NTS Development.  A glass sculpture and glass wall art created by two different glass  techniques can now be found at The Shelby Campus Office Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The first is a glass sculpture illuminated internally with LED lighting. It is 7′ tall and 18″ in diameter, composed of laminated and stacked 1/2″ glass cut by water jet.

The other works are wall murals, 6′ wide by 3′ tall. They are cast/bent glass with fused glass enamels. The artists who executed these murals are Devin French and Chris Chappel, both exceptional artists on the AGA, Inc. team. Devin and Chris have developed a technique of applying glass enamels by sifting it ever so delicately on the glass.  I think this technique gives the murals the look of watercolor paintings.

I have seen many arts and crafts using glass. I think about the cost of production. These looks cool.
