POPULAR POSTS FROM 2011
I’m republishing some of the most popular blog posts from 2011.

Today I am admiring the work of artist Michelle Prosek. Michelle has a wonderful Etsy shop. Like the other artists featured this week, Michelle works a “Day” job as a Mortgage Agent. Her artistic background began with jewellery.
I started out as a jewellery artist and eventually found the size of the work restrictive to what I really wanted to do. Even though I branched out to create larger sculptural works I found that in the end, I needed something more. Turns out it was a larger canvas! Through lots of experience and experimentation I eventually developed the techniques I use to create my tiles, and it’s been a much greater outlet for my creative style. With the bigger kiln added to my studio I can work on a much larger scale and focus on my designs and actually working with glass rather than the many other tasks associated with creating jewellery that took my time away from it.
It’s Friday!
I’ve had an exciting week…
Have you noticed that the menu bar on this blog has a new tab? GlassChat is a new weekly twitter chat that will discuss topics relating to glass and the business of glass with an international audience.
GlassChat will begin May 5, 2011 at 4pm EST. Keep watching that menu tab for updates as we get closer to the launch date. I hope you will join us!
Wishing you all a very happy weekend.
Patricia
